<br />
Crochet this lovely clip. It is easy and quick to do!<br />
You will need a steel barrette, some yarn, a crochet hook and some assorted beads.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>sl st = sleep stitch<br />
sc = single crochet<br />
ch = chain<br />
<br />
First insert the beads into the yarn and ensure a knot thread at one side of the clip.<br />
Then start to crochet around the top of the clip with slip stitches until the entire space is filled with stitches and the last slip stitch into the round space from the other side of the clip.<br />
<br />
R1: crochet 1 sc between the sl st. Turn, 1 ch<br />
R2: crochet 3 sc in each sc but be sure to crochet the beads from place to place.<br />
<br />
Cut the yarn. Fasten off.<br />
<br />
And its' done!<br />

<br />
Who doesn't love the granny square crochet blanket? So simple and fun to make it! I crocheted this blanket for my daughter.<br />
<br />
First make the squares as many as your size blanket want to be.<br />
<br />
Note: I always write the pattern with US stitches!<br />
<br />
Here the classic pattern for the granny square:<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
- begin with 4 chains and sl st in first ch to make a ring.<br />
R1 - Make 5 chains (3 chains - count as double crochet), then (3 dc, 2 ch) 3 times and finished with 2 dc and sl st in 3rd ch from ch5 from the beginning of the row.<br />
R2 - sl st in next ch, 5 ch (3 chains - count as double crochet), then 3 dc in first ch 2 sp, <1 ch, (3 dc, 2 ch, 3 dc - to make the corner), in next ch 2 sp> 3 times and finished with 2 dc and sl st in 3rd ch from the ch5 from the beginning of the row<br />
<br />
Continue to repeat crochet R2 and make as many rows as you desire, but keep in mind that in the 2 ch space (the corner one) always crochet (3dc, 2ch, 3dc) otherwise crochet (3 dc and 1 ch) in each 1 ch sp.<br />
<br />
After you have finished to crochet the square, sew them togheter.<br />
<br />
I crocheted 3 simple flowers, but you can crochet as many as you like,<br />
Here is the pattern for the flower:<br />
- begin with 4 chains and sl st in first ch to make a ring<br />
- R1 - 3 ch (count like dc), 11 dc in the ring, sl st in 3rd ch from ch3<br />
- R2 - *(1 ch, 1 half dc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 2 dc, 1 half dc, 1 ch) in the same place with sl st, skip next dc, sl st in next dc, rep from * for another 5 times. sl st in first sl st.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you already may know, I'm involved in supporting the creative education cause. I am organizing crochet classes for a non-profit agency to start in August, 2014. </div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our targeted audience for these classes are for Mothers and Daughters. There is no charge to take the class.</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
The goal of a "Mothers and Daughters" Crochet class, is to help reconnect the bond between Mother and Daughter and encourage a positive and emotional connection.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In each class I will do some non-formal exercises that have the effect to achieve my goals. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The classes will teach the Mother, Daughter teams how to crochet brooches and boxes to hold them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We're sure to do a lot of chatting and getting to know each other. There will be a lot of fun and creativity around the audience. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The event will take place in a room at the Library. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We need your help to make these classes happen. We are looking for donations of supplies to provide to the class. We are needing yarn, crochet hooks, needles, sewing, decorative beads and buttons for brooches.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you'd like to donate a monetary amount, Any penny will help! </div>

Make a donation easy and safe via Paypal (is on the right side of this blog or on the right side of the non-profit agency site) </div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfmqYUk1ZLDFlom2xBNFF3Zm8AJg_rKtjNpXxU_u7fkYVf6Gcl9l1GDg9qqFvQw7CSbfRoAn3NKko4WnuPsD71k6pmi_N_CSH4GjTZcYDr36SFaM5QRumpvM9iWRzOKudt4cdJevWtBic/s1600/square+crochet+motif+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfmqYUk1ZLDFlom2xBNFF3Zm8AJg_rKtjNpXxU_u7fkYVf6Gcl9l1GDg9qqFvQw7CSbfRoAn3NKko4WnuPsD71k6pmi_N_CSH4GjTZcYDr36SFaM5QRumpvM9iWRzOKudt4cdJevWtBic/s1600/square+crochet+motif+3.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
To make it you already have to know how to make a Lover Knot or Solomon Knot. There are a lot of well done video tutorial on the internet about how to make a Solomon Knot stitch.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Start by crocheting a square from Solomon Knot stitch.<br />
The dimension of the square depends on your need.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjQIYjOMBtgcgFjNfx6zYQicaTeSQl3Oc_PhDm6A2hXi8SZmOnV90x5XRVODRaICSVFerMtjOY6K0Qs0lL5NAbh6nl5Ni5gABippolPTM6veoHeIx26CJemrkffTvse9CICjUbgsH5VSE/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjQIYjOMBtgcgFjNfx6zYQicaTeSQl3Oc_PhDm6A2hXi8SZmOnV90x5XRVODRaICSVFerMtjOY6K0Qs0lL5NAbh6nl5Ni5gABippolPTM6veoHeIx26CJemrkffTvse9CICjUbgsH5VSE/s1600/002.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then, do not cut the yarn. Continue to crochet a follow:<br />
<br />
5 chs and 1 sc between the sc from Solomon Knots (repeat for all sides of the square; this is the first row)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
(1 sc, 1 half dc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 half dc, 1 sc) in each 5-ch from all sides of the square.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is a classic, simply but very beautiful motif.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjn6LRGiZ_-wlNqeYGp82kCKqTcmrsdCr31bsX-4UtEnO0PFqJIGZKvMkjCW6bGy1fjht5UF9iPF-C2q6QxRwcCw4g3bZlDG9p2Ux52TcELIczF6i3zs-uxfILVTB93Cj-gt5fTAVAh0Es/s1600/circle+crochet+motif+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjn6LRGiZ_-wlNqeYGp82kCKqTcmrsdCr31bsX-4UtEnO0PFqJIGZKvMkjCW6bGy1fjht5UF9iPF-C2q6QxRwcCw4g3bZlDG9p2Ux52TcELIczF6i3zs-uxfILVTB93Cj-gt5fTAVAh0Es/s1600/circle+crochet+motif+1.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The Pattern...<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Note:<div>
Increase the number of st for each lp to enlarge the row. <div>
If you crochet it with a bulky yarn, like I did, you may wish to begin with less then 24 dc, but it must be multiply by 2.</div>
<div>
Also, when you start the row with ch-3 lp, you could crochet continue, without joining at the end of each row (in this case you should use a marker for the end of the row. Join only at the end of piece.</div>
<div>
<br />The foundation:<br />
In a ring, ch 3 (count like dc) and 11 dc. Sl st in 3rd ch from ch-3.<br />
R1: 1 ch, sc in the same st as joining, *ch 3, sc in next dc; repeat from * around and finished with ch 1 and sc in the same st as joining.<br />
R2: 3 ch, sc in first ch-3 lp, *3 ch, sc in next ch-3 lp; repeat from * around and finished with 1 ch and 1 dc in first sc.<br />
R3: sc in first ch-3 lp, 4 ch, sc in the same first ch-3 lp, *4 ch, sc in next ch-3 lp; repeat from * around and finished with 1 ch and 1 dc in first sc.<br />
R4: 5 ch, sc in first ch-4 lp, *5 ch, sc in next ch-4 lp; repeat from * around and finished with 2 ch and 1 dc in last dc from previous row.<br />
Continue to repeat R4 but increase with 1 ch at each ch-lp for each row. Crochet as many rounds as you need. I crochet this motif until I get ch-8 lp on last row.<br />
Pay attention on the beginning and on the end of each row.<br />
On last row, finished with the same ch number as you did on the other lps from the same row and join with sl st on last dc.<br />
<br />
Have fun!<br />

<br /></div>
This little bag for hooks is so easy, quick and fun to make it! You will love to crocheted it, for sure and I hope that it will inspire you for another beautiful projects.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
My inspiration came from those singular laces (cords) made on my knitting mill and a lot of remaining yarn.<br />
<br />
First of all you will need 4 different colors of remaining yarn.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhamAKtrRWcRWBNEIWXrq60cTFM7xk40CH9E7dkp0DrzOTL2amYvI286ONNHDoJ3M6rxCV4xMEM2IHXtH_l82PPamRZXFMTWPIknt1BcXXZzEQFsp_DhqAskuKWoNHm1qeCHDoppRTSJmA/s1600/crochet+storage+hooks+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhamAKtrRWcRWBNEIWXrq60cTFM7xk40CH9E7dkp0DrzOTL2amYvI286ONNHDoJ3M6rxCV4xMEM2IHXtH_l82PPamRZXFMTWPIknt1BcXXZzEQFsp_DhqAskuKWoNHm1qeCHDoppRTSJmA/s1600/crochet+storage+hooks+1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
On knitting miller make 2 laces (cords) on the same size, about 1 meter and a half each, with different colors.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Part Three.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzeY9TzBxjak858H4Hzm1Y4vwhRL8xv1KMbk7hacyPYQu26eikyrQOkDunosDuvPsi5z2H2kayEex0d5wK0o8gRaJvb6G3AoBm3WmsbSJLyiHLZ5Zi2RytMipTNi00B4dysQW77xJH1Vs/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+10.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzeY9TzBxjak858H4Hzm1Y4vwhRL8xv1KMbk7hacyPYQu26eikyrQOkDunosDuvPsi5z2H2kayEex0d5wK0o8gRaJvb6G3AoBm3WmsbSJLyiHLZ5Zi2RytMipTNi00B4dysQW77xJH1Vs/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+10.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the last part I will finished the project and all the details.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
After finished both square according to the diagram presented on<b> <a href="http://handmadebycamelia.blogspot.ro/2014/01/how-to-design-crocheted-lace-for-pillow_28.html#more" target="_blank">part two</a>,</b> crochet a few more rounds with the mesh model (lets say a half of the length of the pillow case; I crocheted only a quarter).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB_VzvexfIrbzmkGsdE0ZpvmBSe9emMuJp9FiqkZqApN4BrSIPUxRmqMkvZjIcwy2TqmsENYV01JXALCV1YQWzleYkjyCxLotqg_AdQv9Ap309x_E7CkgSnMEkCURfRGOiQtH-743cyHs/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB_VzvexfIrbzmkGsdE0ZpvmBSe9emMuJp9FiqkZqApN4BrSIPUxRmqMkvZjIcwy2TqmsENYV01JXALCV1YQWzleYkjyCxLotqg_AdQv9Ap309x_E7CkgSnMEkCURfRGOiQtH-743cyHs/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+5.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This last part will go underneath and will cover a part of the pillow.<br />
<br />
Here a picture of how those parts will have to be sew (or crocheted) together:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj6Y7P3EvncNRgheiYM8fExOsWHfaTBr4K9MneJDPYCqDgcxxt08YoxpZwH8dp9v1CxjCN8uA06p-9L53-hFkZ8C3tXL0G-vLGBNV1TtjoHaSTNq0frRbznDfkE0ezEwI12Dx-AlJVkn4/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj6Y7P3EvncNRgheiYM8fExOsWHfaTBr4K9MneJDPYCqDgcxxt08YoxpZwH8dp9v1CxjCN8uA06p-9L53-hFkZ8C3tXL0G-vLGBNV1TtjoHaSTNq0frRbznDfkE0ezEwI12Dx-AlJVkn4/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+6.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Crochet on all 4 sides a row with V-st, and continue to crochet them according to the border diagram presented in<b><a href="http://handmadebycamelia.blogspot.ro/2014/01/how-to-design-crocheted-lace-for-pillow.html" target="_blank"> part one. </a></b><br />
<br />
Make sure that you will leave an opened space where you folded the tissue, to insert the pillow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi3S0w9ZBSRVCd1IejmFk2YeoGsANbYRV4BmI-NaDX4dOT7kmCfSZhrAHSoaKnslS4uiH7nbQNXB5kXG5a1qinvwHbLSHTDVAoTU4pSb3dcTbfgJTinQU92mSDwc6icXPA0e5msGnjTE8/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi3S0w9ZBSRVCd1IejmFk2YeoGsANbYRV4BmI-NaDX4dOT7kmCfSZhrAHSoaKnslS4uiH7nbQNXB5kXG5a1qinvwHbLSHTDVAoTU4pSb3dcTbfgJTinQU92mSDwc6icXPA0e5msGnjTE8/s1600/crocheted+lace+for+a+pillow+case+8.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After you will completed all the rounds of the border, cut the yarn.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Weave in ends.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The finished project should look like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of course, it is better to have an white pillow not colored like mine...but anyway the owl is resting well and fluffy and the little boy is happy...!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
